Mr. McGowan grew up in Willowbrook, Illinois and is the oldest of three siblings. He is a die-hard Chicago sports fan, and yes, that includes being a CUBS fan. He spends his free time working out at the health club, watching sporting events, and being with friends and family. Mr. McGowan is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana, Champaign. He graduated with a degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Physical Education and a Health Endorsement (K-12). He has a well-rounded background in athletics. He played football for 7 years including all four years of high school and played baseball since four years old until two years into college. This is his fourth year teaching physical education and is excited to share his ideas and expertise with all of your children.
His teaching goal is to not only inform students about living healthy lifestyles but to help them find at least one activity, whether it be a team or individual sport/activity, that students love and can see themselves doing for the rest of their life to practice lifelong fitness.
